Spice was born in 2001 and is the accidental product of Elphin Celtic Cross and Elphin Sassafras.

Spice was purchased by Sue Hoban in the spring of 2004. He was evented very successfully up to training level by Sue's daughter.

Spice was evented in the 2008 and 2009 seasons by his new owner, Amara Hoppneer, a young rider from Oakhurst Farm in Ashton, Ontario. In 2008, the pair were National Capital Horse Trials Association reserve champions at pre-entry jr level.
