Elphin Gaelic Celebration

Elphin Gaelic Celebration, or Ceb (pronounced like Seb), is the second of Mick's foals out of the TB mare After The Party. Ceb is a 1996 chestnut gelding standing 16.1 hh. As a baby he was a big, strong and playful.

Ceb was started under saddle as a 4 year old, with the expert help of Valerie Everson at Rocking Horse Stable. After less than a dozen rides he was cantering, jumping tiny cross rails and hacking. In fact, on the trail, he often behaved better than Val's daughters' ponies! After an extended 8 month holiday due to rider university commitments, Ceb started work again in the spring of 2001.

In 2001 Ceb competed at the ECCPA Breed Show this summer, winning the Gelding Class and placing in several novice under saddle classes. He also enjoyed several cross country schooling sessions and learned to like water jumps.

Ceb attended several schooling shows and clinics in 2002, but his activities took back stage to the eventing career of his sire. In the early spring of 2003 he spend several months boarded out to take advantage of an arena and get a head start on the show season.

Ceb had a successful eventing season in 2003, competing 6 times. He placed as follows:
6th - TAR Horse Trials, entry level (2'9") 5th - Threadneedle Farm HT, entry level (2'9")
2nd - Steven's Creek HT, novice horse (2'9") 8th - Oakhurst HT, pre-training level (3')
8th - Rocking Horse Trials, open novice (2'9") 5th - TAR HT, pre-training level (3')

Ceb received an ACPS Bronze medallion for his eventing results in 2003.

In 2004, Ceb had a year of holidays because his owner/rider was overseas. He is now offered for sale because said negligent owner wants to return to Australia; he would make a great higher level eventer. He is very sweet, gentle, polite and loves to please. Ceb has excellent ground manners and has always gone barefoot.
