Turlough is Dee's 4th foal and second colt by Mick. He was born in 2001, a dark bay. who then turned grey. Turlough was born on a Thursday morning, and since his grandmother's name was Gold Friday and his mother's name means Beautiful Friday in Gaelic, we decided his name should relate to Thursday. We discovered in our Irish name book that Turlough means "in the image of Thor", god of Thursday, and so he was named.

Left: Turlough with a friend. Right: Turlough at a month old.
Turlough was sold to Catriona Hunter of Frome, Ontario in 2004 as a riding pony for both Cat and her young daughter. Cat sent Turlough out for some professional training in the summer of 2005 and he is doing well.

Turlough age 3 in 2004 before he left for his new home.
Cat tells us that her daughter calls him "Turkey" because she's having difficulting pronoucing his name properly. Even that's not a bad effort for a 4 year old!
