Gryphen is a 1999 chestnut turning grey gelding, expected to finish as a large pony. Gryphen was bred by Debbie Robertson of Haphazard Farm, near Kingston, Ontario; his dam is Ivy, a chestnut grade Welsh pony mare. As a yearling, Gryphen travelled from Kingston to Maxville, Ontario as the Robertsons moved their farm several hours north. Debbie intends to keep Gryphen and event him when he is old enough.
