Mick and Kirsten won the Brookwood Smokey Jumper Equitation Challenge at the 2001 Kingston & Region Pony Club Regional Qualifier Show.

Both Mick's sire and dam are recipients of ACPS Hall of Fame Awards:

His sire, Gilnocky Ard-Righ MacDaire, won the 1984 ACPS An Tostal Trophy, awarded to a performance stallion used to promote the Connemara breed.
His dam, *Abbeyleix Bluebird won the 2000 ACPS Hall of Fame Broodmare Award, for outstanding progeny. She was a Champion Mare at the Connemara Pony Breeders Society breed show in Clifton, Ireland. Bluebird also won the 3 year old mare class at the Royal Dublin Horse Society Show in Ireland.
Mick's paternal grandsire, Foxridge Starlight, was winner of the 1996 Tooreen Laddie Trophy, the ACPS Hall of Fame Award for foundation sires.
His paternal granddam, *Glencara Lady, won the 1993 ACPS Hall of Fame Broodmare Award.
Mick's uncle, *Grange Finn Sparrow, winner of the 1995 An Tostal Trophy, was twice all-Ireland pony jumping champion.
Mick's half brother, Dale Haze, is three-time Champion Connemara Stallion in Sweden. He is the sire of Hazy Dawn, Champion Connemara Stallion in Denmark.
